#SheInnovates Stories: Innovation is solving the world's problems. What problem are you solving?

The Honorable Rona Ambrose: Breaking down barriers for women entering public office and encouraging them to be brave and to lead. 

#SheInnovates: When did you realize your innovation was a breakthrough?

RA: When I became the youngest woman in Canadian history appointed to federal cabinet I realized I wanted to share my power to help break down barriers for other women to become leaders in public life and in business.

#SheInnovates: What were some unexpected obstacles you overcame in the innovation process?

RA: I faced a lack of support from many angles, intense media scrutiny, sexism, and intense pressure. 

#SheInnovates: What inspires you to love your work?

RA: Helping other women and girls succeed inspires me. I work to create a world that is more equal and safe for women and girls, so that they can thrive. 

#SheInnovates: What do you hope that young women coming behind you take from your work?

RA: I want them to be fearless and brave, and to know that myself and other women will have their backs and support them as they embark on their journeys. 

#SheInnovates: Why are women in innovation important?

RA: Women bring a diversity of experience to the table, and diversity is an essential ingredient in innovation.
